Austenitic Stainless Steel:At room temperature, stainless steel exhibits an austenitic structure. Martensitic Stainless Steel:Heat treatment can be used to adjust the mechanical properties of a steel, leading to varying degrees of strength and toughness depending on the tempering temperature. This makes it possible to tailor the material to specific applications and performance requirements.
Duplex Stainless Steel:The steel composition of austenitic and ferritic stainless steel is evenly split, with each accounting for around half of its structure. These steels have low carbon content and a high chromium content, ranging from 18% to 28%. In addition, they also contain nickel in quantities of 3% to 10%. Mo, Cu, Si, Nb, Ti, and N may be added as alloying elements in some steels. The resulting steel blend has the characteristics of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steel, making it a versatile and reliable material for a variety of applications.
Ferritic Stainless Steel:With a body-centered cubic crystal structure, this steel comprises 15% to 30% chromium. Generally, it lacks nickel but may contain trace amounts of molybdenum, titanium, niobium, and other elements. Boasting exceptional stress corrosion resistance, it also exhibits remarkable characteristics such as good oxidation resistance and a low expansion coefficient. Additionally, this steel demonstrates a high thermal conductivity, contributing to its wide-ranging applications.
